Recruiting team seeks to increase diversity of educators, build college and community partnerships
The Seattle Public Schools Recruitment Team will be attending a national conference Nov. 14-18 in an effort to increase the diversity of teachers and administrators in the District and to build partnerships with community organizations and colleges.
The Recruitment Team – made up of members of Human Resources, the Department of Equity and Race, School and Community Partnerships, and the Teacher Incentive Fund – will be recruiting at the Conference of the National Alliance of Black School Educators in Nashville, Tennessee.
The goals are to:
• identify strong teacher and administrative candidates who will help the District's diverse students succeed; and
• build strong partnerships with higher education institutions and community organizations in the surrounding area.
Seattle Public Schools will have an exhibitor's booth, which will be staffed by representatives from the Recruitment Team, the Seattle Education Association, and a school principal.
