About Our School - Viewlands Elementary
There has been an excitement in the air in the community that surrounds Viewlands Elementary School since it became known that the school is re-opening this fall after being closed since 2007. Viewlands has a rich history dating back to the 1950’s when it originally opened and found a way into the hearts of families and community members. It was a very special place for students, staff and families.
We will be blending the rich history of the school with a vision for the future. Our focus will be environmental science as we create learning environments where students use our schools grounds and Carkeek Park to develop the skills and knowledge base to assure sustainability for themselves and the earth. There will be a strong emphasis on health and expanding learning beyond the classroom walls.
